Like mother, like daughter - The Coat

My mum always says that she was never really into fashion when she was younger, but her wardrobe proves otherwise. If you ask me who my fashion icon is, I'd probably say "my mother, when she was my age". Whenever I see old photo's of my mum, I am very jealous of her looks (she has always been a beautiful woman inside and out) and her clothing choices. The biggest advantage of having only brothers, is that all of the 'girl stuff' automatically passes on to me. One of my absolute favourites is this long Claudia Sträter coat.

This beautiful wool coat is an item I know very well, because I have cuddled up to it about a million times when I was a child. This is the coat my mum wore the most when I was about ten years old. I love items that hold some history, and this coat definitely does. Wearing it always takes me back to my lovely childhood. Also, it is very stylish and so incredibly warm and cosy. In winter, I wear it at least once every week.

I decided to finish the simple look with my bright blue scarf and bag. Putting bright coloured accessories on top of a classic coat makes the look feel a bit more modern.
